Micro
A careful planner with an unexpectedly brave heart. Packs an extra blanket. Pretends it is for himself.
One keeps the map.
One takes the scenic route.
Neither goes anywhere alone.

Micro met Mini beside a cardboard box that both had decided was home. There was room for one. They made room for two.
Micro straightened the crooked blanket. Mini put a biscuit in the corner. By morning, the box had a front door, a window drawn in pencil, and two brothers who had never been brothers before.
That was the first page. Every little adventure since then has found its way into this album.
A careful planner with an unexpectedly brave heart. Packs an extra blanket. Pretends it is for himself.
A collector of pebbles, detours, and impossible ideas. Usually says “what if?” right before an adventure.
“You bring the plan.
I'll bring the snacks.”
Micro had planned a walk. Mini had already put on his adventurous face. Then the rain arrived, tapping on the glass like a thousand tiny visitors.
They counted raindrops until they lost count. Mini named the fastest one. Micro insisted it was a different drop every time. Neither won the argument, and neither minded.
Some days deserve a photograph
precisely because nothing happened.
Micro keeps one. Mini keeps one. The door has never been locked, but belonging feels better when you can carry it in your pocket.
They always break it in half. Mini calls the larger piece “your half.” Micro calls it “not a very good measurement.”
The map said left. Mini said right. The best view in the album came from the road they weren't supposed to take.
Micro read the recipe twice. Mini heard the word “cookies” and stopped listening. By the time the first tray was ready, there was flour on the table, flour on the floor, and a suspiciously empty bowl.
The cookies came out crooked. One looked like a cloud. One looked like Micro, according to Mini. Micro refused to confirm this.
They saved the best two for tomorrow. Tomorrow, it turned out, started five minutes later.
The photographs remember the view. The margins remember everything else.
Mini asked which star was theirs. Micro adjusted the telescope, considered the question, and said they could share whichever one they liked. They chose the one that looked like it was listening.
They set off for the corner shop and returned with a pebble, three wildflowers, and a story about a hill. They forgot the milk. They remembered the hill.

Micro built the walls. Mini added a tower that leaned a little too far. They watched the sea take their castle, one quiet wave at a time.
“We can build it again,” said Mini.
“A little higher,” said Micro.
The album ends here.
The brothers don't.
